I... honestly don't have anything witty to say here.

Go crazy so long as you read the rules, and the contact post is open if you guys need me for anything.

people who insist that athena deserves aa6 all to herself because awesome female lawyer lady!!! and get pissy about anyone who implies that apollo's shit should've been wrapped up in aa5/should be wrapped up in aa6.

*passive aggressive tumblr reaction image*

Like, I like athena, but jesus christ get off my side, AA4's shit desperately needs to be wrapped up. And shouldn't they be in favor of trucy getting more screentime and plot relevance as a result, at the very least? Since, she, you know, barely got any in AA5 as a result of Athena.

Look, I like seeing more female characters get more screen time. I really do. However, when you know there's shit that desperately needs to be wrapped up and you ignore it in favor of your shiny new character, then there's a problem.

Honestly, they should've wrapped up the shit that happen in AJ first and then introduce Athena's story in AA6. I'm sure there would've been less people who had a problem with Athena taking screen time from Apollo and Trucy if that happened instead.

Honestly, they should've wrapped up the shit that happen in AJ first and then introduce Athena's story in AA6.

I feel kinda bad for the AAI/5 team in this regard. If AJ had a proper sense of closure like all of the AA games before it, and hadn't been swallowed up by Black Hole Phoenix, they wouldn't have needed to worry about cleaning up the AJ team's mess. If AA5's production hadn't been put off for so many years, they could have made a direct sequel to AJ without having to worry about people getting lost.

Instead, they were given the task of giving the series a fresh reintroduction on a new console after 6 years of no main-series entries, AND not throw out the previous, kinda-botched attempt at a series reboot. And there's pretty much no way to reconcile those two goals satisfactorily.

This. I'm glad Trucy got little screen time in DD - what little I saw of her reminded me how bloody patronising and irritating she was in AJ.

Sometimes I wish Apollo had been female and Athena male just for the glorious "OMG THEY'RE SHOVING A PRECIOUS FEMALE LAWYER ASIDE FOR SOME NEW GUY HOW DARE THEY AND WHAT HER CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT IS ALL ABOUT HIM WTF CAPCOM" storm that would have probably happened on tumblr.

God, no. I'm extremely thankful that that wank never had to happen. It's sad, but my experience in the fandom for the first month or two after dual destinie was the closest to "pleasantly wankless" that the fandom's ever been for me. Granted, that's like saying a slime mold is more intellectually and spiritually enlightened than a dog turd, but.

Nah don't lie. Apollo would not be even as remotely popular if he had originally been female and you know it.

Gender flipping a male character to female is just not the same as a character who is female to begin with. You already know him and love him (and being a cute male helps). You may not care that he's male, but I'm sure many other fan(girl)s do.

People can say "No I'd have hated it if a female character had been introduced in AA4 and had the same treatment as Apollo in AA5 by having their story totally dropped in favor of some new male character" but previous fandom experience just doesn't convince me. People have their ugly ways (sexism in this case) and it just has happened too many times in the past for me to be optimistic.
